Just finished about a 9 mile loop that included about ⅔ of one of my favorite trails in Almaden Quicksilver Co. Park, the New Almaden Trail.
I started from the Webb Canyon entrance and did a loop including New Almaden, Buena Vista, Randol, Cinnabar and Mine Hill Trails. I think the short section of the Mine Hill Trail was a section I had not hiked before, at least it didn't look familiar.
The hike started out in the fog but cleared up nicely to be great hiking weather, warm but with a light, cool breeze. This loop gives a pretty good overview of the valley facing side of the park with a brief visit to the backside and the Guadalupe Reservoir.
This loop also led me through several patches of one of my favorite trees, the colorful Manzanita.
