I managed to squeeze a quick hike on the Guadalupe Creek Trail near my house more-or-less in between the rain. But even with getting a bit wet it was still great. It did wonders for my outlook to see green grass and running water in the streams.
It was also great to see the Perc Ponds, which just a month ago were bone dry, filling up a bit (still quite a ways to go to be at "normal" levels).
Bottom line, get out your rain gear, bundle up and get out and hike! (Great time to go out and get a good pair of waterproof hiking boots, look for ones with Gortex lining, your toasty warm, dry feet will thank you).
If the weather stays relatively bearable (not like Thursday last week, yikes!) I'm going to try and get out into the mountain areas and see what's going on there.
Maybe I'll see you out there!
